EPISODE 1: Dr. Avdesh Sharma

photo1Dr. Avdesh Sharma, a practicing psychiatrist for the last 30 years, is the Director of ‘Parivartan’ Centre for Mental Health and managing trustee of ‘RAHAT’ Charitable and Medical Research Trust. He is the President Elect of the Indian Association of Private Psychiatry and the Past President of the Indian Psychiatric Society (North Zone) and chairperson, ‘Media and Mental Health’ committee of Indian Psychiatric Society.  Dr. Sharma has anchored more than 300 programs on national television (Doordarshan) and has appeared as expert on many international and national channels like BBC, Asian channel of USA, Zee television, Jain T.V., N.D.T.V., TVI, All India Radio etc. He has contributed heavily to print media as well, apart from being the author of several books.




EPISODE 2: Dr. H.K. Chopra

photo1Dr. H.K. Chopra is the Chief Cardiologist at Moolchand Medcity, New Delhi, India. He is the first Indian Cardiologist to be the Founder Chairman of “World Heart Academy”, launched in 2006, with the main objective of creating guidelines, policies, strategies for preventing heart ailments propagated to the world. He is the Editor In chief of “Text Book on History of Cardiology” and National Editor in Chief of “Indian Heart Journal”, an official publication of Cardiological Society of India from 2009 to 2011. He is the winner of  the “Lifetime Achievement Award” bestowed upon for outstanding contribution in Clinical and Preventive Cardiology by His Excellency Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, President of India at President House on Sept. 25, 2006.

Dr. H.K. Chopra has been a firm believer and has been committed to the  concept of Social Responsibility Initiative of corporate intervention. He is also the Founder Director of Heart Care Foundation of India (NGO) since 1986 in an attempt to serve the community

EPISODE 3: Dr. Aruna Broota

Dr. Aruna Broota is a Clinical Psychologist and retired as Professor, Department of Psychology, University of Delhi. She has held the position of President of Sambhavataha, an NGO dedicated to the upliftment of mental health of the citizens of India, President of National Academy of Psychology (2004) and Editor of the Journal of Research and Applications in Clinical Psychology. She was the first psychologist in the country to participate in the programs on Effective Parenting on AIR, Delhi Doordarshan, Metro channel, NDTV, Home Tv, Sab TV, Sony TV, Star Plus, AAJ TAK, UTN, Bharti Channel, DD International, Sahara Samay etc. She has authored many columns in leading newspapers and magazines like Hindustan Times, Swagat, Vanita, Parag, Dainik Jagran, Rashtriya Sahara, Dainik Bhaskar etc.





EPISODE 4: Dr. Manju Mehta

Dr. Manju Mehta is a Professor & Head of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Clinic and Clinical Psychology at AIIMS, New Delhi. She is the founder member of IACAM, working in the area of Child Mental Health for more than three decades. She is also the President of ISPRAT (Indian Society for Pain Research & Treatment), President of Indian Association of Child and Adolescent Mental Health and President elect, Indian Association of Clinical Psychology. Winner of the C.S. KANG ORATION award for the year 2004 in recognition of her contribution to the field of Clinical Psychology, as well as the Best Clinical Psychologist Award by the Delhi Association of Clinical  Psychologists, she has worked extensively in the area of Behavioural and developmental pediatrics.  She has developed simple methods of assessment for children having psychological problems and home based intervention strategies.




EPISODE 5: Dr. Deepak Gupta

Dr. Deepak Gupta is a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist associated with Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, New D elhi. He holds the privilege of being one of the few qualified Child & Adolescent psychiatrists in India. He is a founder director of “Centre for Child & Adolescent Wellbeing (CCAW)”, at Greater Kailash, New Delhi, which is an exclusive multi speciality centre for emotional and social wellbeing of children, adolescents, young people, parents and families. Dr. Gupta is a trained DAN protocol practitioner (Defeat Autism Now, Dallas, Texas, 2009) and has been using biomedical approaches with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders with promising results for the last 2 years. He is also a trained EMDR practitioner (EMDR Association USA & INDIA, 2009) and has been using EMDR with children and young people suffering from various psychological traumas.




EPISODE 6: Mrs. Sumati Ghosh

Sumati Ghosh practices psycho-social counseling. She is Chairperson of the NGO AASRA [An Association for Scientific Research in the Addictions]. She is a Consultant for the NGO, PRAYTN that deals with rape victims and a Trainer for NGOs and the Ministry of Social Justice. Previously she was the Director of SANJIVINI Society for Mental Health. She has worked at AIIMS in their Urban and Rural Projects as well as coordinated a study on Drug Abuse Among Students - a 9 city study.







EPISODE 7: Mrs. Asheema Singh

Asheema Singh is an educationist who is committed to empower young people by enhancing their skills of problem solving and decision making.  President of the UP Science Centre, she is known for introducing many innovative Programs like ‘Face to Face with a Scientist’ and taking ‘Gyan Jathas’ to the schools spread in far flung areas of India.

Presently she is engaged in highlighting issues such as adolescent rights, gender, sexual abuse, adolescent nutrition, substance abuse etc and in evolving innovative methods of empowering youth to effectively deal with them. As a Life Skills Expert she has conducted numerous skill building workshops for teachers, counselors and lesson writers.

Asheema is Vice Chairperson of Indian Association of Life Skills Education and is a Member of the National Adolescent Resource Team (NART) India.


EPISODE 8: Pervin Malhotra

EPISODE 9: Dr. Ameeta Parsuram

Dr. Ameeta Parsuram is a Consultant Psychologist & Trainer and an Associate professor, Department of Psychology, Jesus & Mary College, University of Delhi. Dr. Ameeta Parsuram has been teaching and conducting research for over twenty eight years, in various areas of Psychology including Social psychology, Organizational Behaviour, Counselling/Clinical Psychology, Psychological Testing/Assessment, Gender Studies and Developmental Psychopathology. She has taught these courses and guided research projects at both, the undergraduate and post graduate levels. Ameeta Parsuram has various hobbies/interests. First and foremost she is passionate about Urdu Poetry and music, more specifically, she loves ghazals and has recently had a release of an album of her ghazals.





EPISODE 10: Ms. Gunjan Ryder

Ms. Gunjan Ryder is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist currently associated with the Department of Mental Health and Behavioural Sciences, Max Healthcare and Noida Medicare Centre. She completed her Masters degree at the Department of Psychology, University of Delhi and M. Phil. in Clinical Psychology from the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences, Bangalore.

Her work involves counselling and psychotherapy using cognitive behavioural approaches, psychometric assessments, conducting awareness programmes regarding mental health issues and training other professionals in the field. She is an affiliate psychologist with 1to1help.net, and works with organisations they are empanelled with. She is also Visiting Faculty at the Amity Institute of Psychology and Allied Sciences.





EPISODE 11: Dr. Bhavna Barmi

Dr. Bhavna Barmi is a practicing child and clinical psychologist. She graduated from Lady Sri Ram College and did her masters in Clinical Psych ology from Delhi University. She furthered her academics at NIMHANS, Bangalore, where she did her M.Phil in Medical and Social Psychology.
She is a practicing hypnotherapist and after attaining her degree from the California School of Hypnotherapy. She is the Senior Clinical Psychologist at Escorts Heart Institute and Research Center & heads a Stress clinic and Life Style Management Program for the same for the past 8 years.

She is the founder member and the general secretary of Swashrit (National NGO), which works for the free literacy and health of the underprivileged children. She also heads Mind Track, an in-house Center for Mental Health and Psychological well being





EPISODE 12: Dr. Neeru Kanwar Chaudhuri

Dr. Neeru Kanwar Chaudhuri is a Psychologist (Ph.D. Psy.) in Clinical Practice since the last 18 years. She works as a Psychotherapist  and Psychological Counsellor for Family Issues such as Couples' interactional difficulties and Parenting difficulties. She also works with Individuals facing Depression, Anxiety, Phobias and Behavioural difficulties.








EPISODE 13: Ms. Suman Nalwa

Ms. Suman Nalwa is a 1996 batch DANIPS officer having served in Delhi and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. She has been posted in the districts as Sub-Divisional Officer, in the Crime Against Women Cell, in the Anti-Corruption Units etc.

Her educational qualification includes B.E (Electronics), M.A (Police Administationn), LLM (Delhi University) and LLM (University of Essex, UK).
Presently she is posted in the Special Police Unit for Women and Children, Delhi Police.






EPISODE 14: Dr. Vimala Lal

Dr. Vimala Lal is the oldest practicing Clinical Psychologist in Delhi. After an M.A. in Psychology in 1952, she completed her Ph.D in Psychology from the U.S.A. During her training period, her clinical internship revolved around children and family. She is a Founding Member and Trustee of the Psychological Foundation. Traditionally into general practice, she has been conducting intermittent workshops on family therapy since 1989.








EPISODE 15: Dr. Sudhir K. Khandelwal


Dr. S.K. Khandelwal is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. He is the past President of the Indian Psychiatric Society (North Zone) and the Delhi Psychiatric Society. He has been the only Indian Psychiatrist as part of an international team to study behavioral effects in Antarctica. Besides working in India, he has wide experience of teaching and practicing psychiatry in different cultural settings in Ethiopia, Nepal and England.






EPISODE 16: Dr. Smita Deshpande


Dr. Smita Deshpande is the Head of Department of Psychiatry at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, New Delhi. She has a keen interest in and has done special work in the area of Women’s mental health. She is the principal investigator of an international project on biological markers and genetics of schizophrenic twins.








EPISODE 17: Dr.O.P.Sharma


Dr. O.P. Sharma is a Consultant Physician and Geriatrician and a National Professor of Geriatrics. He is the Editor of 'Geriatric Care' and the General Secretary of the Geriatric Society of India. He has been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by former President of India Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and the Rashtra Bhushan award by Sudhanshu Ji Maharaj








EPISODE 18: Ms. Anupama Datta


Ms. Anupama Datta has been working with HelpAge India for the last ten years and has been heading the Policy and Research Development Department for the last five years. She has been instrumental in organizing seminars and discussions on various topics concerning ageing and the aged in India in collaboration with the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, NHRC and various international organizations.








EPISODE 19: Dr. Manoranjan Sahay


Dr. Manoranjan Sahay is a senior Clinical Psychologist and a Past-President of Indian Association of Clinical Psychologists. His areas of interest include teaching, research, psychodiagnostics and psychotherapy. Recently he has also developed a keen interest in health problems in organizational set ups as well as torture victims and is doing work in these areas.








EPISODE 20: Dr. Sujatha.D.Sharma


Dr. Sujatha D. Sharma is a practicing Clinical Psychologist for more than 25 years. She has co authored two books on stress and has conducted Stress Management programs and workshops on Substance Abuse and Positive Parenting for many organizations and schools. She has been involved in teaching, training and capacity building for governmental and non governmental organizations in the country. Mrs. Abha Malhotra is an Electronics Engineer by profession and has been working as a Management Consultant for the last 20 years. Currently she is associated with the Quality Council of India as a Technical Expert. She has been associated with various industries for improving their business processes through the application of Total Quality Management Concepts.








EPISODE 22: Dr. Mohit Gupta


Dr. Mohit Gupta is an assistant professor of Cardiology at the GB Pant Hospital, Delhi. In October 2006, he was awarded the ‘Young Scientist of the Year’ by the Association of Physicians of India. Dr. Gupta has the distinct achievement of getting more than 18 gold medals and 5 silver medals in his medical career. A strong advocator of spirituality, Dr. Gupta believes that practicing spirituality with correct and scientific understanding is the key to leading a balanced life.







EPISODE 23: Dr. Ruchi Shankar Verma


Dr. Ruchi Shankar Verma is a Clinical Psychologist with the Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences (IHBAS), Delhi. She has co-authored two books on Stress and has been involved in scripting and production of health education programs for electronic media. He is the principal investigator for elaborate projects of the WHO.








EPISODE 26: Dr. Alok Sarin


Dr. Alok Sarin is a Senior Consultant Psychiatrist with Sit aram Bhartia Hospital, New Delhi. He is a fellow at Nehru Memorial Museum and Library. He is an expert in the area of psychosocial rehabilitation and is closely associated with the Richmond Fellowship Society of India. He is the coordinator of a series of public programs on mental health The Canvas Askew in New Delhi.








EPISODE 27: Dr. Nimesh G. Desai


Dr. Nimesh G. Desai has been in full time academic & public service career in mental health for 30 years. He is currently Director, Institute of Human Behaviour & Allied Sciences(IHBAS) and also Professor of Psychiatry. He has 50 research papers, 10 Book chapters & 10 Research Monographs, with many Awards for original research to his credit. He has been actively involved in professional bodies and has served as the Honorary General Secretary of the Indian Psychiatric Society and the Hon. Editor of the Indian Journal of Psychiatry. He serves on many scientific review committees, advisory committees and Editorial Boards, while working on many community based projects and with some NGOs.






EPISODE 28: Dr. Shiv Gautam


Dr. Shiv Gautam is Director and Professor of Psychiatry at Gautam Institute of Human Behavior and Alternative Medicine, Jaipur. Formerly he was Additional Principal of Sawai Man Singh Medical College, Jaipur. He is a Former President of the Indian Psychiatric Society. Dr. Gautam is known for his contribution to Mental Health Education to masses through print and electronic media. Professor Gautam has written two books and published over 110 original research papers in various national and international journals.

EPISODE 30: Dr. Sunil Mittal


Dr Sunil Mittal has been a practicing Psychiatrist for over 30 years. He is Former President, Indian Association of Private Psychiatry as well as Delhi Psychiatric Society. He is director, COSMOS Hospitals which are dedicated to providing quality mental health services as well as President, ‘CARING Foundation’, an NGO working in the field of mental health. Dr. Mittal has been highly involved with the electronic media to create awareness about Mental Health issues.








EPISODE 31: Samir- A volunteer with SUMAITRI


SUMAITRI is a Delhi based voluntary organization which is running a crisis intervention center for people who are depressed, distressed or may be feeling suicidal. People in crises are helped by SUMAITRI volunteers who give a minimum of five hours in a week from their personal / professional lives. Since its launch in September 1988, over a lakh people have been helped by SUMAITRI over the phone and through visits.








EPISODE 32: Dr. Rajesh Nagpal


Dr. Rajesh Nagpal is a Psychiatrist with almost two decades of clinical experience. Currently a private practitioner, he is Vice President, Indian Association of Private Psychiatry, and Vice President, Indian Association of Biological Psychiatry. He is involved in continuing Medical Education & Professional Development. His current research projects include an international Biotechnology project (Genetic susceptibility in schizophrenia).








EPISODE 33: Dr. Sarath Gopalan


Dr. Sarath Gopalan is a Senior Consultant in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Clinical Nutrition at Pushpawati Singhania Research Institute for Liver, Renal and Digestive Diseases in New Delhi. He is the Executive Director of Centre for Research on Nutrition Support Systems(CRNSS) at the Nutrition Foundation of India. EPISODE 34: Dr. S.C. Manchanda


Dr. S.C. Manchanda is  a Senior Consultant at the Deptartment Of Cardiology, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi. Formerly, he was Professor & Head at the Department of Cardiology at AIIMS, New Delhi. He has professional, teaching and research experience of more than 40 years behind him.  He has published over 400 Scientific Papers in various National and International Medical Journals. He has done original research work in the field of lifestyle modification including yoga. He is also a recipient of several national & international awards including the ‘Padma Shree’  by the President of India.








EPISODE 35: Dr. R.K. Tuli


Dr. Tuli is a doctor of Holistic Medicine, with specializations in Aerospace Medicine, Sports Medicine, Acupuncture, Hypnosis and Spiritual Medicine. He is Head of Department, Holistic Medicine at Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals, New Delhi. His pursuit is to establish an alternative drug-free medicinal practice. He qualified to be an Instructor in Ashtanga Yoga, Naturopathy and Panchakarma, Reiki Grand Master, Pranic Healer, a Counselor-Hypnotherapist, a Nutrition and Life Style Expert. Dr Ravi Tuli has been rewarded with various national and international accolades, including the prestigious Oration Award by Indian Medical Association (SDB) and an Honorary Doctorate (PhD) by Open International University for Complementary Medicines for promoting the cause of Positive Health & Wellness by natural means.





EPISODE 36: Dr. Sanjay Manchanda


Dr. Sanjay Manchanda is a Senior Consultant and Head of Department of Sleep Medicine at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi. He is the only dedicated sleep specialist in India. He has been a part of more than 15,000 studies on sleep alongwith doctors of cardiology, endocrinology, internal medicine, ENT, neurology, psychiatry etc. He was the first in India to start home monitoring for sleep disorders as well as Music Therapy for Insomnia.






EPISODE 37: Ms. Monica Arora


Monica Arora is the Head of Health Promotion & Tobacco Control & Adjunct Assistant Professor, Public Health Foundation of India. She is also the Senior Director, ‘HRIDAY-SHAN’ (Health Related Information Dissemination Amongst Youth). HRIDAY-SHAN’s contribution towards tobacco control has been recognized by WHO and the organization has been awarded WHO’s Tobacco Free World Award for 2002. She is also a permanent special invitee to the Task Force on Tobacco Control formulated by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, to facilitate strengthening enforcement of the Anti Tobacco Legislation in India.






EPISODE 38: Neil Paul


Neil Paul began his career in De-addiction and Mental Health in 1995 after qualifying as a Certified Peer Counselor a training course at Central Labor Rehab Council of New York City, USA. He has developed and implemented several residential programs to help residents and their families recover from the malaise of addictions. He is also a professional mentor for others seeking to become de-addiction counselors.








EPISODE 39: Dr. Gorav Gupta


Dr. Gorav Gupta is a Senior Consultant Psychiatrist in New Delhi working in the field for the last 13 years. He is an office bearer of the Delhi Psychiatric Society. He has done extensive work in de-addiction and runs various de-addiction organizations including Tulasi Rehabilitation Centre for the last seven years. He is also involved in a halfway home project for people suffering from Schizophrenia.








EPISODE 40: Jagdish Sadiza


Jagdish Sadiza is working in the field of Clinical Psychology on Psychological assessment, Psychodiagnostics and Pyshotherapy at IHBAS (Institute of Human Behavior and Allied Sceinces, New Delhi). He is qualified in Medical and Social Psychology and has been doing extensive work on mental retardation, sexuality and sex therapy for the last twenty years. This led to an interest in and later extensive study and counseling in the field of Internet addiction and Cyber-sex.







EPISODE 41: Amod Kanth


Amod Kanth is Ex- DGP, Delhi Police and now an activist in the field of Child Abuse. He has been one of the major participants on a national study on Child Abuse and is the President of the Delhi Commission for Child Rights and Protection. He founded ‘Prayas’ in 1988, an NGO initially focussed on providing shelter and education to children affected by disaster. It is a major advocacy group for the rights of children. Besides providing non-formal education, shelter homes and opportunities for economic empowerment to neglected children, ‘Prayas’ is doing commendable work through its Child Line services which are now available to children in 56 cities in India. It serves as a point of first contact for children suffering as a result of abuse, neglect, homelessness, trafficking, child labour and other social problems. 400,000 children used the service in its first year.




EPISODE 42: Anuja Gupta


Anuja Gupta is an incest/child sexual abuse Therapist, Educator and Trainer and has been working extensively on this issue for the last 15 years. She specialises in working with adult women survivors and their families as well as with non abusive parents of child victims. She does individual and group therapy. She offers consultancy, mentoring and supervision to counsellors and social workers. She appears as an expert on sexual abuse in adults and children on national and international TV and radio programs, magazines and newspapers. Ms. Gupta is the Founder and Executive Director of RAHI (Recovering and Healing from Incest) Foundation. Set up in 1996 in Delhi, RAHI is a support centre for adult women survivors of incest/child sexual abuse and an education, training, research, communication and advocacy centre in the field.





EPISODE 43: Dr. Monalisa Palit


Dr. Palit is a Clinical Psychologist based in New Delhi. She has worked extensively on children’s mental health issu  es. She regularly conducts workshops on issues like Learning Disability, ADHD, Behavioral Problems in children, Autism, Child Sexual Abuse and Play therapy as intervention for children with psycho-emotional issues.








EPISODE 44: Dr. Amit Sen


Dr. Amit Sen is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist working in the field for the last 22 years. He is currently into private practice. He is involved with many NGOs and about 20 schools for advocacy, service development, education and training on Child Mental Health issues. He conceptualized and implemented a Child and Adolescent Mental Health program for Sitaram Bhartia Hospital for 5 years before setting up ‘Children First’, an organization dedicated to the cause of Child Mental Health. He is on the management panel and advisory committees for various NGOs including the ‘Salaam Baalak Trust’.






EPISODE 45: Dr. Shanti Auluck


Dr. Shanti Auluck has worked as a professor of Psychology at Delhi University, retiring in 2005. She is one of the founder members of ‘Muskaan’, an NGO formed by parents and professionals to provide needed services for improving the quality of life of intellectually challenged children and adults and emotional and informational support to the parents. She has been coordinating various services that the Association has been rendering to intellectually challenged children and adults and their parents and families for nearly 28 years in various official capacities.






EPISODE 46: Parul Srivastava


Parul Srivastava is  a Child Developmentalist with an experience of nearly 20 years in the field of Child Mental Health. Currently part of  Child Guidance Clinic at NIPCCD(National Institute for Public Co-operation and Child Development), she is working closely with chidren and their families on various aspects of child mental health including learning and behavioral difficulties. Promoting self-esteem in children has been one of the major pillars and intervention strategies for her in her work on positive Child Mental Health.







EPISODE 47: Geeta Mehrotra


Geeta Mehrotra is a teacher with 25 years of experience behind her. She is also a Life Skills Educator with the school she works with. Since 2000, she has been a National Resource Person for the Adolescent Education Program with CBSE through ‘Expressions India’ and has conducted Like Skills workshops for nodal teachers and master trainers in that capacity.





EPISODE 48: Chandrashekhar


Chandrashekhar is a spiritual healer and Member of Healing International, South Wales, United Kingdom. He has conducted more than 3000 workshops and seminars on memory techniques, mind power, stress management, neurobics- exercises for Mind-Body-Spirit fitness at various schools, colleges, institutions and offices of public and private sectors in India and abroad.








EPISODE 49: Geetanjali Kumar


Geetanjali Kumar a professional counselor working for the past 13 years. She is associated with ‘Expressions India’ in promoting life skills education in school children and youth. She is on the panel of CBSE helpline counselors and frequently conducts parenting programs all over the country. EPISODE 52: Najeeb Jung


Najeeb Jung joined the Indian Administrative Services (IAS) in 1973 and worked for 22 years in different capacities in the State (Madhya Pradesh) and at the Centre. He was advisor to the Govt. of Afghanistan during 2002-2005 restructuring the functioning of the Ministry of Petroleum and in charge of rebuilding the entire gas system (from production to marketing) that had been destroyed under the Talib regime. For the last one year he has been working in the capacity of Vice-Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia. He is also a regular contributor to national newspapers on topical issues.

He is a medical doctor with specialization in Thyroid diseases. He is the pioneer of Radiation Disaster Medical Management centre, Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Allied Sciences, Delhi. He has published large number of papers on Chemical Terrorism and Disaster Management. He contributed significantly during Natural Disasters like Tsunami, Gujarat Earthquake and Orissa Super cyclone. For his outstanding contribution and distinguishes services His Excellency The President of India decorated him with Vishist Sewa Medal (VSM). EPISODE 57: Dr Uma Tulli



Dr. Uma Tuli has a multifaceted personality of an educationist, social worker, rehabilitation professional and a sports woman. She was the first non-bureaucrat appointed by the Government of India as Chief Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities from April 2001 to April 2005. Dr. Tuli has a Doctorate in English Literature from the University of Delhi and completed her graduation and Post Graduation from Vikram University, Gwalior. She is the founder of Amar Jyoti Charitable Trust rendering rehabilitative services at Delhi and Gwalior with the holistic approach of providing integrated education, vocational training, medical care and self-employment for the differently-abled, in one premises. 
She has authored “The Spirit Triumphs” and “Better Care of Children with Locomotor Disability”. The book “Seen, But not Heard – India’s Marginalized, neglected and vulnerable children” also carries a chapter written by Dr. Tuli on “Breaking Barriers - Physically Challenged Children”. She has been recently nominated as the Chairperson - Education Commission, Rehabilitation International, USA for four years.

EPISODE 58: Dr. Reshma Agarwal



Dr Reshma, in addition to being a psychiatrist is a qualified gynecologist with a vast experience in the fields of reproductive health. Currently she is working in the Psychiatry Department of the G.B. Pant Hospital, New Delhi. Dr Reshma was honored with the Delhi Government’s Bidhan Chandra Roy Doctor’s State Award for meritorious services. She is a multi-faceted person who writes poetry and also fiction. Suneel Vatsyayan is a relationship counselor, trainer and a director for the NADA Foundation International for South & South East Asia. He is also a trainer for the Border Security Force (BSF), Ministry of Home Affairs Govt. of India. Suneel Vatsyayan has a Masters in Social Work with specialization in Criminology and correctional administration from Jamia Millia Islamia. He was the Founding Director of the Navjyoti Delhi Police Foundation for Correction, De-addiction and Rehabilitation for thirteen years. Dr.Ashima Nehra Wadhawan


Dr Ashima Nehra Wadhawan is Associate Professor, Clinical Neuro Psychology, Neurosciences Centre, AIIMS, New Delhi; She has done her Masters and Post Graduate Diploma from Punjab University, and Ph.D. from PGI Chandigarh. Dr Ashima published over 40 papers in national and international journals and has presented papers in various national and international conferences. Recently, she has been working on disability evaluation of Neurological patients.

EPISODE 63: Dr. Manjari Tripathi


Dr Manjari Tripathi is an Assistant Professor in the Neurology department at AIIMS. She has been working here since 1998. Dr Manjari did her DM Neurology at NIMHANS, Bangalore in the year 1996. She did her fellowship in epilepsy at the prestigious University College of Los Angeles. (UCLA) . She started two new procedures for epilepsy surgery in AIIMS. She has written in Hindi and English patient care booklets for epilepsy and dementia. She is the core member of the formulation of epilepsy treatment guidelines in India the GEMIND.

EPISODE 64: Dr Mala Kapur Shankardass


Dr Mala Kapur Shankardass is nationally and internationally known professional for her work on social health, gender, ageing, housing, and environment and development issues. She is also a faculty in Sociology at the Delhi University. She has been awarded different Fellowships by the US government, Ford Foundation, United Nations and the European Union. She is author of the book 'Growing Old in India: Voices Reveal, Statistics Speak' and of many articles in different books. EPISODE 66: Ms Arvinder Kaur


Arvinder Singh is a Consultant, Trainer and psychotherapist and doing private practice in New Delhi. She has been actively involved in training for Counseling Skills and Life Skills since 20 years in many parts of India, and in Pakistan which has been supported by Action Aid, the British High Commission and the UNICEF. Her land mark work has been in dealing with trauma in communities affected by insurgency and political violence in the form of workshops in states of Kashmir, Gujarat and in the North East. She has also co-authored manuals on providing psychosocial assistance for community level workers and teachers under the aegis of UNICEF and the Rajiv Gandhi Foundation. Arvinder Singh has also been a school counselor and a panelist for TV program on Children’s and Women’s issues.

EPISODE 67: Dr. Vinita Bhargava


Dr. Vinita Bhargava is an Associate Professor in the Department of Human Development and Childhood Studies at the Lady Irwin College, University of Delhi. She teaches courses in Human Development, Research Methods, Early Childhood Care and Education, Human Rights and Law, Policy and Programmes for Women & Children. Dr Bhargava has worked with various agencies in the field of adoption policy and practice in India. She is currently a member of the Adoption Recommendation Committee of the State Adoption Resource Authority (SARA), Delhi Government. Dr Bhargava and her husband have two children, one of whom is adopted. They have founded a support group for adoptive parents called APNA (Alternative Parenting Network Association) in New Delhi.

EPISODE 68: Dr. Neerja Sharma


Neerja Sharma, Ph.D., is Associate Professor at the Department of Human Development and Childhood Studies, and Vice Principal, Lady Irwin College, University of Delhi, India. Her areas of teaching, research, extension, and publication are- adolescence, children with disability and their families, inclusive education, psycho-social well-being, early childhood education, and research methods. Neerja Sharma has authored the following: Understanding Adolescence; Identity of the Adolescent Girl; and Evaluating Children in Primary Education; Among her other books as an Editor are: The Social Ecology of Disability (2010); as a Co-editor- Human Ecology and Family Sciences (2009); and Researching Families and Children- Culturally Appropriate Methods (2008). She has published 15 book chapters and several research papers.


EPISODE 69: Rituparna Borah


Rituparna Borah is a member of Nirantar, Centre for Gender and Education India. In the past four years she has been associated with Niranter. She has also been working in the field of Adolescence Education and Sexuality education for young people. Rituparna has addressed members of youth organizations in different parts of the country on issues of sexuality education for young people. She has also provided inputs to the reworked Adolescence Education Programme training material published by the National Council on Education, Research and Training (NCERT). Rituparna is currently engaged in writing a book on key concepts related to sexuality for activists and staff members of community based organizations.

Ruchi Seth is currently the Principal of Delhi Public School, Sushant Lok, Gurgaon, and the former Principal of Delhi Police Public School, Delhi. It has been 18 years now that she is connected with DPS Society. She has 28 years of experience as a Teacher, Teacher-educator and school administrator. EPISODE 73: Dr. Roma Kumar

Her areas of special interest are Child and Adolescent Psychology. EPISODE 74: Dr. Jitendra Nagpal


Dr. Jitendra Nagpal is a Senior Consultant Psychiatrist in Moolchand Medcity, New Delhi. He is an adviser to the Institute of Child Development and Adolescent Health at Moolchand Medcity.  Dr Nagpal is a renowned Psychiatrist with special focus on child, adolescent and women problems. He has been associated with some of the leading psychiatry hospitals in the country for more than 15 years. He is a member of various committees for protection and promotion of mental health of children and adolescents and is involved in health policy making.
